It was dark, dusty. She paused- located her husband address book and picked up the phone and has a conversation with someone about coming to repair the lift. She sits and waits patiently.

Resolution: Mrs. Foster has arrived home from her 6 weeks holiday to find the lift stuck between floors. It seems she was listening to the lift get stuck or her husband yelling for help when she decided to leave him there and go on her trip.
